Our client is Europe’s largest ground transportation company who is seeking a qualified and experienced Vehicle Technician (night shift) to join their brand new, purpose built workshop in Hayes (UB3) which services a fleet of over 5000 vehicles, all of which are under 3 years old. You would be joining an established company which has been in business for over 40 years and focusses heavily on training and promoting their staff, providing an excellent employee benefit scheme.
You will work as part of their large workshop team to provide scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance to their fleet of over 5000 vehicles, working on a diverse range of fleet vehicles such as: Ford, Vauxhall, Toyota and Mercedes.
Salary and Benefits:
Up to £29,000 basic salary plus 5% annual performance related bonus and generous employee benefits scheme which includes 25 days paid annual leave / holiday per year in addition to the Bank Holidays, private medical cover, company pension, staff discount on journey bookings, ongoing industry specific training including manufacturer booked training, cycle to work scheme and free staff parking.
Type of Role:
This is a full time permanent role working Monday to Friday from 7.00pm to 3.30am (night shift).
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Vehicle maintenance, repairs and full servicing
- Fault finding/diagnostics
- Work to manufacturers repair times
- Ability to change clutches, timing belts, engine replacement, major servicing
- Warranty work
- Liaising with and communicating directly with drivers
- Basic administration
Skills and Experience Required:
It is essential that you have been fully trained and qualified as a Vehicle Technician (Mechanic) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair to NVQ level 3 or equivalent and hold a full valid driving licence with at least 3 years experience in vehicle servicing and repair. Please note that copies of certificates will be required at point of job offer.
Having experience with Ford, Toyota or Mercedes-Benz vehicles and working in a main dealer would be an advantage but not essential, however you must be skilled to the level that you can work unsupervised in carrying out servicing and repairs to vehicles whilst maintaining the highest of quality control standards.
